Rich in cultural and entertainment program this year will take place within the traditional holiday reception event Advent in Zagreb, which is organized in a central town square and other squares and streets of the city, starting 26th November and will last until 1st January 2012. year. Advent will take place at the following locations in Zagreb:
Ban Jelacic Square – 26.11. - 18.12.
Zrinjevac – 3.12. - 1.1.2012.
British Square – 3.12. - 1.1.2012.
Trg Žrtava Fašizma – 6.12. - 25.12.
Advent in Zagreb for the traditional lighting of the first advent candle 26th November at 17:00 hours on Ban Jelacic Square and Zagreb Tourist Board has further enriched the program so this year start new programs in Zrinjevac Advent and the square of the victims of fascism. Grand opening of the Advent in Zrinjevac is scheduled for 3 December at 18:00 hours, where on the stage of the old city pavilion performed various musical events. There will be Christmas concerts, waltzes, and carefully selected music programs, and all visitors to these musical events will be able to enjoy the forgotten Zagreb specialties cloths with sauerkraut, homemade soup or baked strukli, warm up with hot chocolate or boiled wine, and for their loved ones to buy unique souvenirs and Christmas ornaments.
